YMCA Youth & Government — Grades 7-12. Draft real bills, debate on your state capitol floor, and run a mock government with teens from all over. Democracy with the training wheels off.
Idealist — Every age. Type in where you live, find real volunteer gigs near you. Help your community and connect with others who have shared interests.
Rotary (Interact & Rotaract) — Interact for ages 13-17, Rotaract for 18+. Local clubs that pick a problem in their community and actually go fix it. Service, friends, and a little bit of glory.
Braver Angels — Best for 18+ and campus. Structured debates where red and blue sit in the same room and, weirdly, come out closer. You'll learn to argue without making enemies.
iCivics — Be part of the growing nationwide movement to prioritize civic education.
